So last night before the movie we went to Coffee Shop, which, in my opinion, falls into the category of Restaurants That Are Popular For No Reason.
They hardly have any vegetarian options in the first place, but last night they were out of veggie burgers. Which means I ate about a fourth of a basket of plantains for dinner. Sorry, no photo, but trust me, you’re not missing out. It wasn’t very exciting.
I also had a few of my friend’s fries, which may be the only thing they have going for them. Really good fries. However, I strongly suspect that they are cooked in some kind of animal fat because to me, they taste a little too much like hamburgers. I choose to turn a blind eye to this fact because I cannot prove it and therefore it isn’t true.
This clearly was not a substantial dinner and definitely accounts for the fig attack I had this morning between the gym and walking the dog:
A life or death situation, obviously.
As for the movie, I liked it. I was never really that into the show, but I think I’ve seen most of the episodes kind of randomly over the years. The movie was basically what I expected, except I was kind of annoyed by the ending.

you are going to turn into a fig one day : )
I too think Coffee Shop is kind of overrated. And the SATC ending annoyed me because Big is a jerk and Carrie gives a bad name to all women by continually going back to him despite his jerkiness.
I’m delurking (love the blog!) to say WORD on the ending of SATC. I’ve been arguing that same point to all of those who swooned over it…falls on deaf ears unfortunately.
Jack and I knew that movie was gonna be dumb. We laughed at you for going.
Figs to the rescue! :0)
i havent ever really watched sex and the city, but SJP face freaks me out, so I doubt i would enjoy it.
i totally agree that Coffee Shop is popular for no reason. I think it’s popular for the sake of being popular and cause it’s all models and the like that work there. A place to see and be seen.
SATC-I think I’m the last female on earth who still hasn’t seen it. And honestly, I don’t really want to. Does that make me weird??
YES, Thank you Arielle!! Big is a jerk. He fricking jilted her and she went back to him??? WHAT? I mean, I can’t believe the rest of the girls signed off on that! So she planned a big wedding and he wasn’t comfortable, boo frickin hoo. If all he wanted to have was her (as he said several times) then he wouldn’t care how big the wedding got. Why is it that everything always has to be on Big’s terms?? Grr. I guess Carrie figures that she’s given this guy 10 years, she’s 40 something, if she wants kids and marriage, he’s her only card to play.
Sorry, I’m bitter.
I wish I could have fig attacks. I have pizza attacks instead.
It really blows.
*** SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ IF YOU STILL WANT TO SEE SATC! ***
yes i totally agree!!! why the eff would you go back to someone who LEFT you at the altar?!?! also, i really wanted aidan to make an appearance. i heart him.
the samantha/smith thing was dumb too. smith was SO adorable in the series, and they made him into this big jerk in the movie. totally lame. i really liked them together.
Sam shoulda stayed with that blonde guy. Whats his name? Jared? Whatever, he was cute and he treated her well. And shes old-ish. And Mirandas ugly.
SJP looks like a foot.
Just saying.
I need to get myself some figs! You make me crave them!
Alexa -
I would be very tasty.
Arielle -
EXACTLY! Thank you. I couldn’t agree more.
Jennifer -
Thanks. I sat in the middle of five girls. The two on my left didn’t like it and the two on my right did. I was fifty-fifty. I liked it up until the end. I kind of think you can’t expect too much.
Chris -
Jack loved the final season, I don’t know what you’re talking about.
VG -
As always.
Kelly T -
No, probably not.
Betsy -
Chris got kicked out of there one night (the one and only time I have ever been there at night) for calling it a diner. And no, you’re not weird.
Kate -
You are quite passionate about this. But I agree, he is an ass.
Kristen -
I have pizza attacks too. I have actually heard that figs are good on pizza, however.
Anne -
You’re so considerate. I loved Aiden too. And I didn’t really think that Smith was a jerk in the movie, but I did think that they way over aged him. He looked like he was thirty years older, it was ridiculous.
LolaFunk -
More strong opinions. I liked how Samantha left, actually. But he was cute.
Tina -
They’re good. I wish I could stop craving them.
