Sprouts!

I dragged Chris through the green market on our way to Trader Joe’s and managed to grab these before he dragged me back out:
Mung bean sprouts! This is exciting to me, so instead of a conventional snack (like one of the 18 chocolate chip Z Bars we bought) I made a salad this afternoon:
I would have bought more at the market but we went during the worst possible time and I just couldn’t handle it. I can’t take crowds. Which is why I live in New York, of course. No crowds here.
Also, for lunch I had a veggie burger (Morningstar Grillers Prime) with some Sun Chips:
And I also got an iced coffee at Starbucks while we were shopping:
Oooh, I love mung bean sprouts!! Great for salads, for sure.
I love your healthy snack! I’ve never had/seen mung bean sprouts–but they’re so pretty! I must find some at the market next time.
And yeah I hate crowds too
Makes the shopping experience less pleasant that’s for sure
I’m still a little scared to try sprouts and kale.
Ooh, I was in Union Square yesterday too. It’s death on wheels with all those people, right? I actually had some skateboard punk do some jump right in the path of P and I. I was amazed. ‘I was like, is it 1986 already? scaring the squares, pal? good one.’ Anyway, what’s the best time for the green market? I missed it yesterday due to copious amounts of lounging around.
I’m not going to lie, the first second i looked at the sprouts i was like ummm those look like sperm. But i DO loves sprouts and I HATE crowds in a supermarket…we try and go at the least busiest time, a la monday at 10 pm!
Ughh crowds drive me crazy. I was at the store today and it felt like I was nearly getting run into every 30 seconds. Weekend food shopping is dangerous business.
Ditto on the sperm comment. But I’d totally eat them anyways. I love sprouts in salads and on sandwiches. I’ve never really turned down food because of the way it looked.

I got terrorized by a skateboard gang, too. I think early early morning is probably best. Not that I’ve ever been there then, but I have a good feeling about it.
