Long weekend
May 5, 2008 by arielle
We are back from our trip and I, for one, could have used one more day to relax. I can only imagine how Chris feels, considering that I did not get behind the wheel once all weekend. Not that I didn’t volunteer, but last time I drove there was a little incident involving a red light and a wandering mind. Let’s just say I’m no longer trusted in the driver’s seat.
We had fun, though. Jack did a little of this:
And a little of this:
And, when we got home, a lot of this:
Chris and I, we mostly did this:
So this morning, I got back on track with a banana and peanut butter smoothie:
It’s a really nice day today, and I think I’m going to work outside on my stoop and let Jack romp around in the 4ft by 4ft bed of rocks we like to call our “yard.”

Aww, Jack is such a cutie!!!
My dog loves sticking his whole head out the window sometimes, haa.
after not driving for a long time, whenever i get behind the wheel it’s not pretty. when i was home in march, i ran through a red light…twice!! totally by accident cause I was daydreaming.
jack’s ears seriously crack me up. it a “oh my god, they’re so adorable” way.
It looks like Jack had fun! (You guys, too!)
My little Alice, who seems so innocent and, well, stupid, likes to open the windows by herself and try to escape.
I have to drive with the leash in my hand to keep her from suicide attempts.
I think it’s because she hates going to the groomer and I can’t say I blame her because they spray her with stuff that smells like old lady.
Haha!! Love the re-cap of what you, Chris, and Jack did this weekend - so fun! :0)
Mmm, smoothie!! I just posted on my blog about some of my favorite smoothie combinations :0)
You know, I never could get behind a peanut butter banana smoothie. I love peanut butter - I love bananas. But in liquid form, they just don’t do it for me. Sad, really.
Your dog is so cute! What kind of dog is he?
How much PB do you put in the PB and naner smoothie? Also do you just add milk and ice with it? I have actually never made one, but PB with banana is one of my favorite combos.
Haha, sounds like my weekend to a T… except I didn’t roll around in the water or on the floor like Jack did
Sounds like a great weekend. Jack is so adorable

He may have had the best time of his life. I think he’s depressed to be back in brooklyn.
Betsy -
I know, it’s hard to get used to it again. I am really bad. His ears crack me up too.
Ashley -
I think he had more fun than us.
Kristen -
In the beginning, I thought you were talking about your kid.
Veggie -
I know, I read it! Sounds similar to this one.
Katers -
That is sad. I love the peanut butter banana smoothie.
Erica -
He’s a mutt. A pit/lab mix, they said. I don’t know if that’s true. He’s kind of small for a lab.
Run -
I try to keep it to about 1 tablespoon, but I don’t measure it so it’s probably closer to 1 1/2. I use about a cup of milk, a banana, the pb and about 1/2 a scoop of chocolate protein powder, to make it thick. And ice. And sometimes some cinnamon.
Lindz -
It looked like you guys had fun!

Thanks!
OK what are you doing at your house when you should be writing for The Office or something!! BTW I’m obsessed with that show. If you don’t already watch it… Shame on you! But seriously, I just died laughing AGAIN…
I am so glad Jack went to WV. He looks so, so happy.
