Genius
April 15, 2008 by arielle
When I have to go in to work, I am usually done right around noon, so I inevitably spend the entire train ride home thinking about what I’m going to eat for lunch. This means that by the time I walk in my apartment door, I’ve been thinking about food for a good 45 minutes, and as a result I’m starving, even if I had a bag of peanut M&Ms at 10am. Which, for the record, I didn’t. But things like this have been known to happen in the past. Before the blog, when I could rest assured that they would stay my little secret.
Anyway, today I remembered that I had a box of those Gardenburger riblets in the freezer, my new favorite thing. Then I remembered how much I used to like barbeque chicken pizza. And then I remembered the pizza I made out of that rectangular wrap on Sunday for lunch. Can you see where I’m going with this?
It was amazing. Seriously. I want to eat another one right now. I had some tomatoes and cucumbers with it, too, for some vegetables, and also some grapes that I didn’t photograph. Those grapes always seem to avoid the camera for some reason.
Oh, and this morning, a grande skim misto:

Tonight I’m going to this event with a friend of mine, so I’m meeting her for dinner first and I probably won’t get to post everything until tomorrow morning.

Gardenburger riblets on pizza??? Now that IS innovative!!! Good culinary-thinking there :0)
Have a lovely time at dinner with your friend tonight!!
Wow that is a great idea. I might have to get those again. It has been years though… i hope they are just as good as i remember.
omg that sounds SENSATIONAL! I used to looove bbq chix pizzas from Bertucci’s! What herbs did you put on top? It looks so fresh n pretty n I just love that splash of green! Would you be willing to post this recipe?? herbs cheese wrap etc so i can write it down?lol sry im selfish n annoying but i totally want to make this SUPER soon!
The fact that you do not have a dark red manicured thumbnail holding that latte makes me so happy.
I think most of us know who I’m talking about.
I just noticed that Starbucks has new lids… what’s up with that?? (Or is it just me who hasn’t been there for so long??)
pizza looks bizomb
Hey! I liked the dark red nailpolish - Kiala doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Also, what is a misto? How is it that I consider myself an expert on coffee and was a barista for 7 years and have never heard of a misto?
i loooooove bbq chicken pizzas, but usually they aren’t healthy! this looks so good & so easy to make… yum!
Oh no, I didn’t mean YOUR nail polish.
I meant another food bloggers ubiquitous manicured nails. SORRY.
I was just wondering what brand wraps those are? THey look delicious!
um that pizza is pretty much the greatest idea ever. Papa Murphy’s makes a great BBQ chicken pizza. Its the perfect amount of sweet. I never thought to make my own.
Aren’t grapes just the dickens?
I dont know what that means.
Aaah, that pizza looks really yummy. And I like the digressive way you let your post take us there!
you really are a genius. congrats!!
but really-that pizza looks amazing. i really want to lick my screen, but it’s kinda dirty.
Is that the Roll-Up bread? I am so addicted to it - they’re the the best! They make awesome pizzas, quesadillas, tacos, sandwiches - I even eat ‘em plain! I think I’ll go make a Roll-Up quesadilla now…YUM!
Wow - I have to echo everyone else and say that that pizza looks incredible! I like pizza with bbq sauce better than tomato - I gotta try this!
I’ve been a silent reader on your blog for a while - I’m just getting my own up and running and was wondering if I could add you to my blogroll? Some of your posts really make me laugh
VeggieGirl -
This may be the one innovative thing I do all year.

I think you’ll be happy. The sauce is amazing, really.

The wraps are called roll-ups but they are just like any other wrap, so use whatever you have. Then you stick the riblet in the microwave for like three minutes, pour the sauce onto the wrap and spread it around evenly, then cut up the riblet itself and put it in top. Then cheese; I used part-skim mozzarella and some cheddar but anything would work. Then bake it, and it’s just scallions and cilantro on top. Easy.
Sure. It’s really easy, you’re not annoying
Romina -
I don’t think they do, sometimes they give these lids and sometimes the other ones. These are really annoying because I always rip off way too much and then I spill it everywhere.
Emma -
Thanks.

A misto is just like a latte except no espresso and much cheaper. So it’s a café au lait I guess? Except Starbucks calls it a misto.
Lindz -
It was good and easy! I am having it again today I’m sure.
Kiala -
I didn’t think you meant mine because I haven’t had a manicure since, oh, probably my high school prom. But now I’m dying to know who you do mean. Why are you doing this to me?
Em -
They are called roll-up I think.
Kelly T -
I thought so too. I’m pretty brilliant. I’ve never had Papa Murphy’s. Must be a west coast thing. And grapes are, truly, the dickens.
Anthropologist -
Thanks! It was. Are you really an anthropologist? I’m curious.
Betsy -
Don’t do it. Just make the pizza.
Tra -
It is that roll-up bread. It is pretty good.
Eatingbender -
Thanks! Of course you can add me. Link your name so I can see your blog.
I am not really an anthropologist.
I am a writer (which is akin to having anthropology as a “hobby” — ??)
