Brace yourself…

Okay. So let’s just get this out there: You could definitely say I got a bit off track this weekend. This blog was not at the forefront of my mind. We ate pretty much every meal out with my mom, and snacked a ton in between. I tried to photograph things as I could, but definitely didn’t get everything. I’ll do my best to remember what’s missing…
Saturday
We went to brunch at this place, and I had an omelet with mushrooms and spinach. It came with toast, salad and home fries, and everything was really good. I basically ate all of the omelet, all of the salad, maybe half of the homefries, and two pieces of toast. Before we left, I snacked on a couple prezels:
Then my mom and I went shopping, and when we got home, I had some yogurt with a little Trader Joe’s raisin bran cluster cereal and some honey:
I also had an “ice cream” sandwich:
Then last night we went to dinner here, which was amazing. So good. We shared a bottle of wine and two appetizers - the eggplant parmesan and the goat cheese tart. Both were really good. I had the whole wheat fettuccine with mushrooms for dinner, and many bites of Chris’s almond-crusted trout.
Sunday
This morning we didn’t go to brunch until 11:30, so around 9am I had the yogurt/cereal/honey concoction again and a pear. Sorry, no photo for either. I also picked up a cup of coffee while we were walking Jack:
Then we went to one of my favorite neighborhood places for brunch (their website doesn’t have a menu, so no point in linking to it) and I had a mushroom, zucchini and goat cheese crepe that came with salad. Also very good, but not very filling. Chris and I took my mom to the train station and went to Trader Joe’s, and when we came back, I had an apple and peanut butter:
I also tasted the new olive flavored hummus I got, and my taste turned into more like a serving with Kashi crackers. No photo, sorry. And then, the Sun Chips happened:
I should know better. I can never stop eating these things. I had way too many. I have no idea how many. But again, to0 many.
I’m sure I missed some stuff. It was a lot of eating! Luckily we also did a ton of walking, as usual, and tonight I will get back on track. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

No worries if you indulged this weekend - at least all the food sounds quite delicious! Tomorrow is another day :0)
I tend to splurge alot when I have guests in town too-lots of eating! It all sounds worth it though. And, as veggiegirl said, I always remember tomorrow is a brand new day!
VeggieGirl- great advice
I too had a somewhat difficult weekend keeping my eating in check.. Sometimes it just happens.. It feels blech, but VeggieGirl is sooooo right, tomorrow IS a NEW day!
I agree
I had a similar weekend of bad eating…but Monday is always a new day, right! I thought it was interesting that your crepe didn’t fill you up, because I had a huge one on Sunday that I thought would fill me up for a long time and it didn’t… maybe since it’s made from white flour?
Thanks, VeggieGirl. Most of my choices were fine, I just didn’t photograph much!

I know, everyone always wants to go out to eat! Not that I mind…

I know, as long as it doesn’t happen too frequently, I’m okay with it!

That’s funny. I’m sure the white flour had a lot to do with it. Mine was really small too…usually brunch will fill me up so I just need a snack or something before dinner, but not yesterday.
oh my god Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips… they.are.so.addictive. I hear ya on that one!! I don’t think I’ve bought them since college since I know what happens when they are involved, particularly when also involving alcohol. Tostitos Hint of Lime chips have a similar amazingly tasty addictive quality, affectionately renamed “Hint of Crack” among my friends.

Seriously. I know. If it were up to me I would not buy them, but Chris eats them, and unlike me seems to have some sense of self control, so we always have them.
And I’ve fallen victim to the hint of crack chips too. Also smart booty. And pita chips. And too many other things to list.
