Long day
February 12, 2008 by arielle
It really seems like this morning was ages ago. It’s been snowing all day, which makes walking the dog pure joy, let me tell you. I sucked it up and took him on two full-length walks (I just can’t bring myself to do the third) and we both ended up on the sidewalk. He is still a little wild on the leash and that plus slippery sidewalks = trouble. He was really cute though, I think it may have been the first time he saw snow and he didn’t know what to think. Plus the snow covered up all the trash on the sidewalks that would normally be in his mouth, so that’s always a good thing. Nothing like pulling a used tissue out of a dog’s mouth.
Anyway, on to the food. I had the lentil salad again for lunch today, with another small piece of naan, some hummus, and a few mini peppers. I didn’t take a picture because it was a bit repetitive.
At around three, I had a handful of whole wheat pretzels because I wanted to hold off on a bigger snack until right before my yoga class at six:
Before yoga, I had another banana and peanut butter:
I took a 90-minute Bikram class that wasn’t over until eight, so afterwards I was starving. Chris wasn’t home yet, so I made a few vegetables in a little olive oil. I took a picture because it looked pretty:
I had those with some more hummus and about eight crackers or so. I love broccolini!! I’ve had it before, but I think I need more of it in my life. I love how you can eat the stems. It’s so good!
Anyway, of course I had some dessert - Fage with a tablespoon or so of chocolate chips:
I had this instead of just a couple pieces of chocolate because I was still a little hungry after that light dinner and this fills me up in addition satisfying my never-ending chocolate craving. I also drank a ton of water to re-hydrate.
Hopefully we’ll see some better weather tomorrow. I’m ready for some sun!

Hi, Ive never taken a bikram yoga class, but have always been really interested. Ive only done yoga maybe once, but I do a pilates video on occasion. What do yo think the best way to prepare myself for this class would be?
Thanks!
I’m not a yoga expert by any means, but it’s really similar to pilates in that it primarily engages your core, so you should be good. I’ve been to classes at a lot of different gyms/studios, and they are all really different. But you can definitely go at your own pace.
Also, drink lots of water before, during, and after, since it’s really hot, and wear comfortable clothes! The first time I went to hot yoga I got a heat rash…not fun.
Ewww. Dogs will eat anything. I’ve never heard of a heat rash from hot yoga, good tip on plenty of water.
They really will. Yesterday Jack ate his first pen.
